anonyme4321, Apple mac theme download for windows 7.
Thank you for your prompt reply!
I read the link to the previous discussion thread that you suggested, and this is what I did that seems to have fixed my problem: https://evermanager309.weebly.com/blog/how-to-download-excel-2010-on-mac.
From nbar's recommendation I did:
- OS installers are all called 'Install OS X OS Name' which might not be what you expected, if you're looking alphabetically for instance for El Capitan. Mac App Store Download does not start on fresh installed Lion. Stuck at login in App Store. Force Re-Download of El Capitan from the App Store? Force quit download from App Store.
- Download Microsoft 365 for macOS or later and enjoy it on your Mac. A qualifying Microsoft 365 subscription is required for Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook. A free 1-month trial of Microsoft 365 is included with each Microsoft 365 in-app purchase.
Now, if you have that box checked, your Mac will download not just app updates and incremental OS updates, but major updates too, starting with the installer of macOS Sierra. I really wish they would make a facebook app for macos. Hate to say it but the facebook web browers is trash. It loads too much unnecessary things at once and even my latest 13' macbook has a problem keeping up. My main review is for messenger developer to make an extension for the app.
Open Finder, from the menu bar Go. > Go to Folder..
Change Allow apps downloaded from: to App Store and identified developers. Note: For Mac High Sierra (10.13.x), you will need to click on Allow too. Click the lock icon again to prevent any further changes. Installing the Zoom application. Visit our Download Center. Under Zoom Client for Meetings, click Download. Double click the downloaded file.
copy and paste the following path: ~/Library/Preferences/
Deleted the following item:
com.apple.appstore.plist
This item was not there:
com.apple.installer.plist
Then from Carolyn Samit's recommendation I did:
Open Finder, from the menu bar Go. > Go to Folder..
copy and paste the following path: ~/Library/Caches/
Deleted the following folder:
com.apple.appstore
So actually, thank you to all three of you!

How to get updates for macOS Mojave or later
If you've upgraded to macOS Mojave or later, follow these steps to keep it up to date:
- Choose System Preferences from the Apple menu , then click Software Update to check for updates.
- If any updates are available, click the Update Now button to install them. Or click ”More info” to see details about each update and select specific updates to install.
- When Software Update says that your Mac is up to date, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are also up to date. That includes Safari, iTunes, Books, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Photos, and FaceTime.
To find updates for iMovie, Garageband, Pages, Numbers, Keynote, and other apps that were downloaded separately from the App Store, open the App Store on your Mac, then click the Updates tab.
To automatically install macOS updates in the future, including apps that were downloaded separately from the App Store, select ”Automatically keep my Mac up to date.” Your Mac will notify you when updates require it to restart, so you can always choose to install those later.
How to get updates for earlier macOS versions
If you're using an earlier macOS, such as macOS High Sierra, Sierra, El Capitan, or earlier,* follow these steps to keep it up to date:
- Open the App Store app on your Mac.
- Click Updates in the App Store toolbar.
- Use the Update buttons to download and install any updates listed.
- When the App Store shows no more updates, the installed version of macOS and all of its apps are up to date. That includes Safari, iTunes, iBooks, Messages, Mail, Calendar, Photos, and FaceTime. Later versions may be available by upgrading your macOS.
To automatically download updates in the future, choose Apple menu > System Preferences, click App Store, then select ”Download newly available updates in the background.” Your Mac will notify you when updates are ready to install.
* If you're using OS X Lion or Snow Leopard, get OS X updates by choosing Apple menu > Software Update.
